Protecting Your Child’s Privacy


We comply with both the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

FiddleQuest LLC is the only operator collecting or maintaining children’s Personal Data (PD) on our Site or Service.

Collection of Information

At the time of enrolling a student in FiddleQuest, the parent or legal guardian provides the First Name and Last Name of the student and year of their birth. Optionally, the parent or legal guardian may choose to choose to enter a username and password so that the student can login without the parent or legal guardians credentials. In order to protect the security of your child’s account and preserve your ability to easily reset your child’s password online, you should keep the answers to these questions confidential.

A student’s teacher may optionally shoot and upload videos of student performances to FiddleQuest servers. Who can view these videos and how they are used is detailed below. Please see section "Disclosure to Third Parties" for details.

We may collect other information from your child that in some cases has been defined under COPPA as Personal Data. Please see our Privacy Policy for details about what PD we collect, and your rights related to PD.

Use of Information

As set forth in FiddleQuest LLC’s Privacy Policy, FiddleQuest LLC may use your child’s PD to communicate important notices, send information, products, notifications, provide services, and improve our products, content, and services. We may also use his or her information for internal purposes such as auditing, data analysis, and research.

FiddleQuest reserves the right to use Student Videos for marketing and similar purposes. Videos used by FiddleQuest LLC for these purposes may display the first name of students appearing in these videos as well as the month and year they were recorded.

Student Videos may be shared and viewable outside of FiddleQuest. Please see section "Disclosure to Third Parties" for details.

We may use, transfer, and disclose non-personal data (NPD) (data that does not, on its own, permit direct association with your child’s identity) for any purpose. For example, we may aggregate and use information regarding customer activities on our website, Apps, and from our other products and services to help us provide more useful information to our customers and to understand which parts of our website, products, and services are of most interest. Aggregated data is considered non-personal information.

FiddleQuest LLC reserves the right to deliver non-targeted advertising to student users.

Disclosure to Third Parties

Teachers

• Teachers who use the FiddleQuest service are completely independent of FiddleQuest LLC.

• Teachers are not employed, managed, screened, or any way controlled by FiddleQuest LLC.

• FiddleQuest LLC strongly encourages parents and legal guardians to research teachers before choosing to employ them.

 

Once a parent or legal guardian selects a teacher for their students in the FiddleQuest service, the selected teacher will have access to some of the PD collected for your student.

Other FiddleQuest Members

As set forth in FiddleQuest LLC’s Privacy Policy, teachers may optionally upload videos of members playing FiddleQuest Songs and Skills. These Student Videos are viewable by all FiddleQuest Members. The first name of all students appearing in each video, as well as the month and year each video was recorded, are presented along with the video itself. Enabling students to watch other students play the same songs they are learning is an integral part of the FiddleQuest curriculum and philosophy of education.

We understand that some parents and legal guardians may prefer to not have videos of their student viewable by other FiddleQuest Members. If you prefer to not have videos viewable by other FiddleQuest Members, ask your teacher not to shoot or upload your videos. Additionally, at any time you may contact us using the contact information at the top of this agreement and we will be happy to remove any of your existing videos from FiddleQuest.

Social Networks and Other Video Sharing outside FiddleQuest

As set forth in FiddleQuest LLC’s Privacy Policy, unless you update your preferences, your Student Videos will be shareable. This means that your Student Videos can be shared by anyone and will be viewable outside FiddleQuest. This sharing can occur by sharing a URL (via email, text, or other communications technology) or via Social Networks—none of which are controlled by FiddleQuest LLC.

If you prefer to not have videos viewable by other FiddleQuest Members, ask your teacher not to shoot or upload your videos. Additionally, at any time you may contact us using the contact information at the top of this agreement and we will be happy to remove any of your existing videos from FiddleQuest.

Strategic Partners

As set forth in FiddleQuest LLC’s Privacy Policy, FiddleQuest LLC may make certain personal information available to strategic partners that work with FiddleQuest LLC to provide products and services, or that help FiddleQuest LLC market to customers. Personal Data will only be shared by FiddleQuest LLC to provide or improve our products, services, and advertising of our services to our members; it will not be shared with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Service Providers

As set forth in FiddleQuest LLC’s Privacy Policy, FiddleQuest LLC may share children’s PD with companies who provide services such as information processing, fulfilling customer orders, delivering products to you or your child, managing and enhancing customer data, providing customer service, assessing your or your child’s interest in our products and services, and conducting customer research or satisfaction surveys. These companies are obligated to protect your child’s information and may be located wherever FiddleQuest LLC operates (a specific list of countries in which FiddleQuest LLC operates is found in our Privacy Policy).

Others

As set forth in FiddleQuest LLC’s Privacy Policy, it may be necessary—by law, legal process, litigation, and/or requests from public and governmental authorities within or outside your country of residence—for FiddleQuest LLC to disclose your or your child’s PD. We may also disclose PD about you or your child if we determine that for purposes of national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public importance, disclosure is necessary or appropriate.

We may also disclose PD about you or your child if we determine that disclosure is reasonably necessary to enforce our terms and conditions or protect our operations or users. Additionally, in the event of a reorganization, merger, or sale we may transfer any and all personal information we collect to the relevant third party.

Access, Correction, and Deletion

As set forth in FiddleQuest LLC’s Privacy Policy, if at any time you want to access, correct, or delete data associated with your account (including either you or your student’s PD), please contact us at contact@fiddlequest.com or using the information above.
